On Monday Will managed to break his finger playing football in his lunch hour, he intercepted a pass, and caught the ball awkwardly, and broke his left pinky finger, it is broken in between the two lower knuckles and needs surgery to fix it.
They have to straighten the bone and place two pins through the bones, the pins will be left sticking out for about 8 weeks until the finger is heeled, however there is a chance that the pins wont work, they will know once the pins are in place if they are going to fix his finger, if it looks like the pins wont work they will slice along the top of his finger an completely remove the skin and place a permanent screw into his finger and sew the skin back, unfortunately if they do this it is likely he will have more pain
Surgery is scheduled for Monday, at the moment he is taking Vikodin to help with the pain and after the surgery he has 10 days sick leave, although he hopes to be back at work by Thursday.
